May, 2010
Dear Eagle Family,
With only a few track and field meets to go, we are close to putting the finishing touches on a tremendous athletic year. The Big Sky Conference released an update of the Sterling Savings President’s Cup Standings and with just the outdoor track and field championships and spring grades to go, we are sitting in second place…I know that our track and field teams will give everything that they have to see if we might finish with a strong final kick and win our first-ever overall trophy.

KILLIN RECAP
Simply put – wow and thank you! Thanks to the over 900 people who made this year’s Killin one of the best ever! It was a great evening as we again partnered with the Michael Roos Foundation and was able to publicly thank both Katherine and Michael for their tremendous generosity as they jump-started our synthetic turf project by committing the lead gift. In addition, it was very special to have Colin Cowherd and his fiancée, Ann, back to campus and participating in the event. Colin did a tremendous job hosting the event. Let’s hope that he might consider coming back again next year. Finally, a special thank you to a few folks on our staff who spearheaded the event – Kyle Hoob, Pete Piscitello, Davin Perry and of course – Judy Crabb…without these four, there would not have been a Killin – great job!
CONGRATULATIONS…
To our 44 student-athletes who were named to the Big Sky winter academic honor roll…our S/A’s continue to lead the conference in GPA and are great role models both in and out of the classroom.

EAA FUND DRIVE – OPERATION IK PART II
Our six-week campaign ended at Killin with us reaching the 500 mark in membership so we are halfway to our goal of 1000 members. I am confident that we will get there by the start of the fall seasons. Thank you to Billie Jean Hall and Brendan Genther for co-chairing the fund drive and thank you to Krysta Plato for all her efforts behind the scenes.
SECOND ANNUAL EEEEWOOOS
This year marks the 2nd annual year end athletic celebration…below is a link explaining more…this year we do plan to invite the public to attend for a nominal charge – but space is limited – last year, was a tremendous capstone event to the year and this year will be no different – full of great moments and surprises…

NCAA DIVISION I CROSS COUNTRY
In partnership with the Spokane Regional Sports Commission, we submitted a bid to host the NCAA D-I Cross Country Championships for 2011, 2012 and 2013. We have been named a finalist with two other communities and now await word as to whether we may receive the championship…thanks to Coach Zeller on our staff and Chris Frye of the SRSC for all of their hard work on the bid.
Until next month - Best Wishes and Go Eagles!!!
